What scratch & dent actually means
Never used, minor scratches or dents, perfectly operational condition. Here is what you gain, and what to check before you buy.
From the box to our floor
How a unit gets here
- 1
It picks up a mark
A scuff in the warehouse, a dent in transit, an opened box — the appliance has never been used, but it can no longer be sold at full retail price.
- 2
It comes to us
Like-new, out-of-box and scratch & dent units make up our floor, and new arrivals come in regularly.
- 3
It is fully tested
Every appliance is tested before it is sold. Minor scratches and dents do not affect how it works.
- 4
It sells with a warranty
Every purchase includes a free 1-year warranty, labor and parts, extendable up to 4 years with CPS.
Why buy scratch & dent
What you gain
The machine works the same as the one in the sealed box. What changed is the price.
- Never-used appliances, up to 60% below retail
- Fully tested, in perfectly operational condition
- A free 1-year warranty with labor and parts — the first 30 days covered by our store
- See the exact unit on the floor before you pay — then take it home the same day, or have it delivered and installed

What to check
Before you drive over
Scratch & dent is a good deal precisely because it is not for everyone. A few things are worth checking first.
- Every unit has some cosmetic mark — that is why the price is lower, and it is not a defect. Look at the unit on the floor before you buy
- Measure your space, and check whether you need gas or electric, before you choose
- Inventory changes quickly — call or text (973) 932-6088 to check a model is still available
- Register your CPS warranty within 30 days of purchase, or it is lost
